Method
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Whisk in the egg yolk and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in.
- Add the flour and stir just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop into 9 balls, about 2 tablespoons each, and place on the baking sheet with room to spread.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers still look a little soft.
- Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then move to a rack.
