Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons butter melted and cooled slightly
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Whisk in the egg yolk and vanilla extract.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in.
  5. Add the flour and stir just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop into 9 balls, about 2 tablespoons each, and place on the baking sheet with room to spread.
  8. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers still look a little soft.
  9. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then move to a rack.
